 Dutch's
older brother played bass guitar with a band. Dutch was only eleven at the
time, but his brother influenced him so much that, by the time Dutch was fourteen,
he, too, was playing with a band! He performed with many bands and combos
in the Michiana area and became very well known and sought after for his
talents. Then it was off to college.
 After
college, he formed his own group and called it "Dutch Treat".
Dutch Treat was very popular locally and worked many of the venues around
Indiana and Michigan. Dutch did a considerable amout of studio work and was the bass player on the
Zibby TebBo album, "Ashes and Tears". After the album he started
performing with the band and enjoyed a good amount of success. Dutch has been
influenced by a great number of musicians, singers and song writers. Most
are from the rock and jazz genres.
As an accomplished
musician, Dutch performed all over the U.S. and shared the stage with many
great acts such as "Buck Dharma" of Blue Oyster Cult, "Greg Allman" of the Allman Brothers
Band and many other stars. He toured for 3 years with the
band 360 which was fronted by "Tommy Tallton" also of Allman
Brothers fame.
Dutch returned to South
Bend to raise his son, John, but still remains active in the Michiana music
scene. He is still performing locally with The Money & Fame Show and,
ocassionaly, with the Balbo Bros. From playing on records to live performances
Dutch has done it all including rock, country, pop, jazz and fusion. You
won't find a more rounded musician than Dutch Holloway.
